Originally from St. Johnsbury, VT, Harry B. Salman graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1915, and entered Norwich University in 1916. That same year, he joined the Near East Relief Expedition as part of the Students Army Training Corps and served in Turkey and Armenia. Upon his return, he re-enrolled in Norwich in 1920 and graduated with the class of 1921. Salman played varsity baseball, basketball and football.
